After reading all the other reviews (and debating back and forth over buying this item) I am glad I purchased it. One reviewer said it looked orange, I disagree completely. It does not. Another reviewer said it look fake--well, yes it obviously is. But that was the reason I bought it. If I wanted a real hide rug I would have bought a real one. However, I could not stand the idea of that. A third reviewer said it was thin. Yes. Real hide rugs are thin as well. You are not buying a high pile (or even low pile) rug at that. I wish I could download a pic so you could all see. This rug is worth the >$***.

This Alexander Home faux cowhide tan area rug , Is very beautiful. I was hoping to find something that went with my other rug in the dining room. But after I received it, I realized the material is not as soft as my other one. Knowing the difference , it felt fake. So I returned it.

I was so excited about this rug and looked at a lot of rugs for a long time before I actually ordered it. I chose this one because I thought the color would be perfect on our dark floors. When I got it I was not super happy with it because it looks a little orange-y to me. I wanted to like it so badly, but my husband and my mom said the same thing. It kind of looks orange rather than a pretty tan. I know the other reviews say that the color is accurate, but I just felt like it looked so much better online than it did in person. Since this is a faux rug, the actual texture of the "fur" looked a little fuzzy and in combination with this color it ended up looking very dog-like to me. I know that sounds harsh, but I decided to send this rug back because every time I looked at it I just thought of a somewhat dirty dog. I still want the same style, so I'm waiting until one of the grey rugs comes back in stock so that I can order that one instead!

We purchased this rug for our living room. I love that it’s faux fur and looks great. The color is what you see in the picture as well.

I wanted the look of rawhide for my southwestern themed living room, but didn't want real animal skin. This is perfect. It looks great. It is a thin rug (as animal skin would be) but that's what I expected and wanted. I would recommend a pad or anchoring it with furniture legs as it does slide around on my wood floors.

Love this area rug. The color is as shown. I did iron it on the floor because it bubbled when first purchased and after two weeks was still not lying flat. Vacuums and spot cleans well.

I though that this rug would have more of a thickness to it, however when I opened the package, I found that the material is very thin. It still looks nice in the room, but it does not look authentic at all because of the material it is made out of. The color is true to the pictures displayed.

Love it. Bigger than most cow rugs. Love that it is faux but looks real. Neutral color too!

Loved the size and the color and the fact that it was faux cowhide so I'm not displaying a dead animal in my living room. I also liked that it stayed flat on the floor (it came rolled up in a tube - I had previously bought one from another store that came folded and it was imposible to make it lay flat). It was the third one I bought and I'm keeping this one!

Wish the backing was thicker or even had latex because rug won't stay flat. Great coloring just as pictured. Will have to layer it with other rugs to anchor it.

The rug is acrylic, not hide or rawhide. But it was a great price and it looks nice, so I'm keeping it even though I'm disappointed that it's synthetic.

Nice color, thinner than I thought it would be. Very flexible though. Adds a unique look to any room. Authentic looking. compliments a rustic bedroom or livingroom well

I was excited about this rug. Shortly after receiving this rug the texture changed to a matted mess! I didnt put it in a high traffic are either. Ive tried to seperate the faux fur strands but nothing helps. It looks cheap and rediculous. Im trying to return it but I doubt that'll happen at this point. so disappointed! Buyer beware!!

The rug has a natural enough look to blend in. It is easy to clean, and feels comfortable to walk on. It is large enough to fit a sitting area.

I wasn't sure about getting a faux cowhide because I have gotten a real one in the past. But oh my goodness this is just fabulous. I love it much better than the real one. Its so pretty, I love the color and it looks great in my diningroom

The most believable faux kids I’ve ever seen! Wonderful scale, weight, and softness. Even had true variation in coloring without overdoing it, such as an animal would naturally have. 10/10 would buy again!

I didnt pay attention to the description and thought it was real rawhide. The description should have said faux. That being said, it is good for what it is.

I am so in love with this! Ordered this online and put this in my office. It takes about a week to lay flat. Feels great too! Looks just like the pic!
