These chairs are as described, large, heavy and tall. For a small person/table they will likely be way too big. They work well with my industrial table and tall sons, so a good fit for us. Assembly was straight forward and simple. The wooden seats arrived with several scratches, but not bad enough to send back, since I have a house full of teens and will have more scratches soon anyway. The packaging was awful, and I’m surprised the chairs weren’t badly damaged. They arrived with the boxes nearly destroyed, broken styrofoam and chair parts poking out through holes. The boxes were flimsy cardboard and an awkward size/shape/weight for UPS (and my sons) to handle. My UPS guy left them on my rain-soaked porch, and didn’t ring the bell to let me know they were out there, which didn’t help packaging either. Now that we’ve used them a couple weeks I’ve noticed a few metal burrs, not sharp enough to cut, but noticeable if they catch you. Overall happy with them for the price, and a Chinese made priduct. I ordered 2 sets with arms, but decided 4 armchairs were too big at my table and ordered 2 side chairs, and returned a set of the arm chairs. Just make sure you want large chairs. if you order them and want to return them it’s $30 a set for return fee.

Love these chairs for their sturdy design. The wood is real and quality. The metal and wood combination make it a great fit for a rustic or industrial dining room or kitchen.

These chairs showed beautifully online and I was happy to find this still of wood and metal at a tenth of the price that I'd seen in my looking retailers'. The two boxes (set of two each) arrived on-time and initially there seemed to be little damage to the packaging. I opened the first set and minor scrapes/scratches and that the base, when put together properly, stil doesn't line up fully. I sat (ultimately in each of) them and they weren't unsteady; so I continued. Upon removing pieces from the second set, I first noticed that the plastic binding was torn apart for a set of the pieces. It was obvious that someone had repackaged them and they were eventually forwarded to me. The scratches and scrapes were more obvious, but still tolerable. I figured that normal wear and tear will continue too scrap away; so maybe with time each will be less obvious and make them more rustic & vintage in appearance. As I put the pieces together, small "dots" of extra metal protruding in random places easily, yet barely scratched my skin. Maybe thiscan be scraped or filed away somehow. We're just being careful in the meantime. I, also, noticed extra dots on the wood that appear to be markings where the holes would be to secure the wrap around backing had I purchased the armchairs, but I hadn't. Upon further inspection that set only showed the marking on one side of each wooden seat, but a third chair had a larger and oddly placed discolored area of tint. Because I'd already intended to use seat cushions immediately, this wasn't a big of a deal. I'm glad I'm using the cushions which have a decent amount of cushion because the seat would otherwise sit abnormally low for a standard height dining table. That low floor to seat height plus the slanted back, wouldn't have been a great combination for my family and I who range from 5'1" to 5'6". By the way, although the outer edge of the chairs are curvaceous, the chairs are NOT ERGONOMIC as there are no curves on the inner bars to follow the natural curve to any human's back. The seat itself has some molding for the backside, but again, I (am glad that I) added cushions for greater comfort. I am more disappointed that there is one very obvious metal bar within the chairs' backing that is obviously too short, but was soldered together anyway. We can only add three pics to the review; so you'll have to image the other scraps. For your reference, the missing measurement from the item's dimension is floor to seat...from the floor to the very top front edge of the seat, it is 17.5" and floor to the top back edge of the seat 16.5". From the floor to the top of my standard pedestal dining table is about 29". This is a bare floor (without carpet.) Overall, there are fixes and compromises that will give me the safety, functionality, aesthetic that I desired and I am happy that I don't have to pay *** per chair to achieve it. I'm not returning them.

It destroyed my hardwood flooring, the plastic things on the bottom cane immediately off of two chairs and scratched the ground.

  • Q:

"What is the widest width side-to-side of the chair back?Would two of these chairs fit comfortably a long a 60” Carbon Loft table?Thank you"

    • A:

I have 4 of these at a 65 inch table top. The distance between the legs of the table is 57 inches. Two chairs on one long side: 6 inches between the edge of chair seat and table leg on each end with 7 inches between the seats on the chairs in the middle. Hopefully you can use the above numbers to see if they will work for you. I am very pleased with how they look and perform. Had them about a year now. My husband is 6' 4" and 275lbs. We stick a different chair at either end when we have company and every one still has room to maneuver. Widest point at top of chairs--22 3/4". Hope this helps.
