Carson Carrington Arendal Mid-century TV Stand

I'm so pleased with this TV stand. We purchased it for our 55" TV and it is the perfect size! The Walnut color is true to the photos. I don't remember this mentioned in the description, but I was excited to find that the door hinges are soft-close (such a great feature with young kids in the house!!). It is very sturdy and well-built. This looks like an expensive piece of furniture. It was very easy to assemble and is simply a beautiful fit in our mid-century modern themed living room!

This TV stand is perfect. Beautiful finish and good quality. Easy to put together. Perfect for my 55 inch TV. Nice and sturdy. Great value for the price.

The color looks a bit darker then it showed in the picture, like the walnut color! Very decent and stable for holding up a 65 inches tv with any issue.

Very heavy and we love the way it looks. One word of caution. It has about a zillion pieces to assemble. My husband and son-in-law are both very handy types, and it took them about five hours to put this together.

Beautiful! I love this piece. It only took my 18 year old son 1 hr to put together. I read the directions while he assembled. They didn't mention that this TV stand had soft close doors which I love. I have a 18 month old niece and she is good for slamming a cabinet door, so this is a great feature. Very sturdy. I currently have a 55 inch TV on it but I could go larger it I wanted.Overall get piece for a great price.

I purchased this stand because it was wide enough to hold my 65" TV, it was narrow enough that it does not take up a lot of space depth wise, and, of course, it's retro style and affordability. Putting it together took me about 3 hours but I built it on my own with no help so that may have had something to do with it. I could tell the materials were very delicate and that it would be easy to ruin the wood or pierce the veneer so I moved through the instructions step by step being careful not to tighten anything until I had all corners covered. The end result was beautiful. Just as it was in the picture. I docked this rating by one star because of the instructions. The pictures weren't always clear and there were a few typos. If you purchase this stand and take your time to build it accurately you will not be disappointed. The end result was a beautiful and sturdy stand which does the job and looks great while doing it.

I purchased this television cabinet because it is a perfect compliment to my other mid-century modern furnishings. I am currently renovating my 1960 home and using some vintage and some new (vintage-looking) furniture in order to give the appearance of how the house may have looked when it was brand new. I have made one alteration to this cabinet, so far. I spray-painted the three silver hand bars to gold. I also plan to go over the entire cabinet with an antique walnut stain/poly combo, as I did on the dining set just to the left in the first picture. It makes the wood a deeper, richer color without compromising its integrity. I’ll also add a cord cover, since placing the cords inside the original plaster walls is not an option. It was fairly easy to assemble (around one hour), and it does require two people to flip it right side up when completed. It’s heavy! Be careful when lifting.

This is an amazing piece for the money. Very sturdy. A little tricky to assemble, but not bad at all. I painted the silver hardware gold to match my decor before assembly. Highly recommend if you love the mid century look. For reference, this is a 55" TV.

Product is very sturdy due to the 100-150 pieces it takes to put together. Im a single person and it takes two people,so that was a bit of an obstacle. It is much darker than it appears in the picture by about 5-7 shades of brown, almost a mocha. One issue is they should tell you that when you put the wooden dowls in you must pound them in more than half way or when you attatch the out ward facing side the dowels will come through the wall, Luckily I found this out on the first piece I had to put together and it was on the interior of the cabinet. There would be no way I would send it back for this because Id have to put it together again and that's just not an option. The instructions were very clear besides that one issue. Although I do actually like the piece I would not recommend it due to the literally 100-150 screws , fasteners, bolts it takes to put this together. This is the first item Ive gotten from overstock that I would not recommend. I had to stop after I got the main part done after 2 and a half hours because I just didn't want to deal with it anymore. It took me two days to muster up the "good grief I have to finish this. and that took another two hours. Trying to level the doors is definitely a two person job. If you do purchase this Id recommend a power screwdriver. Do not use a regular hand held screwdriver . So although it looks great but is much darker than appears in the photo I would not recommend due to it is worse than putting a piece of *** furniture together and it will frustrate most people to the point of stopping and putting it to the side for a few days and you must have two people as the instructions state when you open it up. Clearly they should tell you that before you order in the description in bold print.

It was in terrible shape - looked like a return that was sent to me - Didn't realize that it was in such bad shape until I had it half way put together...

TV stand is exactly as pictured, it took some time to assemble but it’s a good piece for the price & has the mid-century feel I was looking for.

This was ordered almost 2yrs ago with a couple of Simple Living Ashfield bookshelf towers. This was very weak and came with lots of missing screws etc (which I bought locally) so the person I had to hire to put all 3 together could put them together. See that review so I don't want to repeat it all.

Really nice! Durable and clean aesthetic. Took me about 3-4hrs to assemble by myself. Instructions recommends 3 hrs for 2 people. Not too bad for someone like me who enjoys assembly things. Delivery was relatively quick and easy.

Yes, this looks pretty, but it is the WORST piece of furniture I have EVER built. #1 the instructions are not accurate. Some images are backwards and unclear so I had to fix and flip parts multiple times and SIX hours late, still put it together wrong. #2 It has literally hundreds of pieces (some of which aren't even used!) #3 the material is so thin, it RIPPED! #4 it is insanely heavy. It is very difficult to put together with one person. Good price, but poor quality and insanely difficult. I cried 3 times and almost threw in the towel. I wish I could return it but may try to sell it. You better dedicate a whole weekend to assembly if you purchase this. (oh, also, the legs are wrong and don't all fit correctly so mine is wobbly. Disappointed. (also, check what color you order. Photos are unclear. "Black" which was the only option when I ordered means black top and black legs. Not what I thought (seeing as there were no fully black consoles in the pictures). I discovered this after hour 4!!

I love this unit! The only downside is that it does take some time to assemble, but I did so alone. The recommendation is 2 people, but I don't see that as necessary. It did take a couple of hours, but the instructions were mostly clear. It's a beautiful unit with good storage and a clean look. I have a 65" tv on it. Love it!

Looks good, I like it, but I understand its not a quality piece that will last long. I don't think it will stand up to any abuse, the veneer is thin and material is cheap. Per previous reviewers, the assembly was a PITA. It saves time to use a cordless drill, but make sure you adjust the torque to minimal setting, this material is unforgiving. Still....I am happy with my purchase for the price. Good for an apartment.

Satisfied with the purchase. The color looks like the website and the measurement was correct. Solid piece of furniture. It took me about 2 hours to assemble the furniture.

This cabinet didn’t live up to my expectations. I’m hardly ever disappointed in my overstock purchases but the cabinet is just not very well made. One of the doors was broken.

Love the look and is surprisingly well made for the price. Packaged well, each piece was wrapped in foam. I am concerned about how the surface of the top will hold up bc it is a veneer on MDF, but I was happy with the 2 soft closing hinges for each of the cabinet doors and the bottom legs are real wood. Fairly easy to put together by yourself. Would def buy again from this manufacturer.

Beautiful looking piece. Good size and quality for the money. Was easy to and quick to build. I would buy it again without a doubt.

This TV stand is absolutely fabulous, very sturdy, and looks incredible with my MCM house. I love the soft close doors, and there's plenty of room for my records and other media.

Unfortunately this piece of furniture was delivered damaged. There were splits in the wood on top of the cabinet, missing pieces and cracked hinges. The quality was very poor and I was extremely disappointed, as I expected much more from Overstock. It looked as though it was damaged previously and returned by the previous owner and then sold to me. The representative was helpful although not empowered to credit me back the full price of the piece. I was offered the option of disassembling it and returning it however after paying a fee to have it assembled, that was the last thing I was going to do. I asked to escalate to the Supervisor however my call did not get transferred and I was told the Supervisor will back this decision. I don't plan on purchasing another item from Overstock. I would like to hear back from someone in corporate to express my dissatisfaction.
