Carson Carrington Christian 8-drawer Dresser

This dresser is shipped in three boxes -- A, B, and C. When I initially ordered this dresser I received A and two B boxes. I did not receive C. When I called Overstock to tell them about the issue I was told the dresser was sold out, so they could not send me box C. Then I was told I would have to send all three boxes back -- UGH. I asked when the dresser would be back in stock and was told that they had no idea. Also UGH. And then, I swear, before UPS even came to pick up the old boxes... I received an email saying that the dresser was back in stock. I had to laugh! Suuuuch a headache. However, I will say, Tristan in Customer Care was absolutely wonderful in helping me order a new unit, and he made sure the warehouse knew to take extra care with this shipment. He blew me away with his service. Thank you Tristan! Anyway, aside from the shipping snafu, everything else about this dresser is amazing. It looks great, the quality is very good (it is HEAVY once it's all put together), and it's easy to put together. "But wait!" you say, "Hold on! All the other reviews say this dresser is a pain in the rump and took 5+ hours to build!" Listen... I don't know what happened to all of those other customers. This dresser took me 3.5 hours to put together. And I was half-watching TV while I did it. And I stopped twice to refill my whiskey. I'm a 30 year old woman who weighs 100 lbs and clocks in at 5'0", and I was by myself. I frankly can't wrap my head around some of the previous reviews. The directions are so easy to follow and simple! Just read them and pay attention to what you're doing. Seriously, this is not a hard build. Here are some pointers for those of you that are still nervous. - Use a cordless drill/screwdriver. I was armed with my Dewalt and it made the build so much easier. I imagine using a manual screwdriver adds a significant amount of time and torture - Follow the directions. This is kind of a no-brainer. Just pay attention. You'll start to notice patterns (big holes = cam locks; small holes = cam bolts; holes in unfinished edges = dowels, etc.) - Make sure your screws for your sliders are flush against the wood. A TINY angle is ok but anything more than that will affect how smoothly your drawers glide. - There's one point in the beginning of the build where you are putting the bones of the piece together; this is kind of hard to do alone because it gets kind of heavy and awkward, but it can be done. Don't give up! - When putting the sliders on the inside of the main unit (not the drawers), the picture of where to put your screws doesn't line up with the holes. Just try to fine the best placement. There will be one screw to the side by the wheel and the other two will be along the middle of the track. I hope this makes sense. - Build this bad boy somewhere close to where it's going to end up, especially if you're alone. I built it in my living room and good lord, I thought I was going to die pushing it to my bedroom. Like I said, it's HEAVY and I am TINY! Anyway I hope this review helps some people. It really is a beautiful dresser and I was very excited to finally see it in my room. I also have the matching nightstands (2 of 'em) and they took me about an hour a piece to put together. I highly recommend those too.

Love how this looks in our bedroom. It's different than your everyday average dresser.. Would have given it a 5 but some of the drawers catch a little on the sides when opening and closing but that may be b/c how it was assembled. We also put a TV on Top (55 inch) and the top isn't buckling from the weight. Overall, a great and unique piece. Very happy with it.

Very impressive! I love the look and assembly was a dream. My dresser was packed very well in three boxes. Each box had a complete inventory printed on the outside. No possibility of dings or scratches because there was an inch of Styrofoam surrounding everything and thin foam sheets between each piece. The instructions and hardware were tied inside the first box. The instructions were very well written. Pictures and text in actual English. Pilot holes for the screws are perfectly placed. All parts and hardware were labeled to make assembly even easier. Two of us assembled it in a few hours. Most of the assembly could be done by one, but a few things really need two. Just a Phillips head screw driver is all you need. Nice and sturdy. No peeling or flaking. The back panel is plywood (not cardboard). The back is attached with screws and the locations are marked and pre-drilled. The drawers all slide nicely and everything is lined up and square. Deeper bottom drawers are great for t shirts, the small side ones are perfect for socks and underwear. The shallow center drawers are only really deep enough for wallets, jewelry scarves... Overall, we love it! A great deal.

This has a great design and is large with tons of space, however it arrives in three boxes all of which are very heavy. The first delivery only brought 2 boxes. This item has been a headache and stressful experience. It also has a cheap back panel and had a scratch on the side about three or four inches long. I am still looking to resolve setting up this item in our home.

This dresser is simply amazing! You may have seen people say it is tough to build, but if you follow the instructions to a T, you will have no issues. The instructions are super clear. Try to do exactly as the image suggests (with one exception below). The manual will have pictures of the wooden pieces showing what the front is and how the screws should align. Mirror that. To clear any confusion you may see, there is a moment where you are attaching the slider rails to two wooden pieces. The only mistake in the instructions is they don’t tell you the right holes to use. You will want to use the bottom hole to the side of the wheel. Everything will line up perfectly. Hope that makes sense. When installIng the drawer front, pay close attention to the spacing between the corners of the front and the sides. There shouldn’t be any spacing. If there is, adjust the drawer base (yes the bottom part of the actual drawer) and pull it down or apply some pressure until you hear a “click,” but careful not to damage any wood in the process. PRO-TIP: Do all drawers first. The installation is all the same so once you do one, rinse-repeat for the others and put them aside. Makes installation SO much easier when you have that aside. Plus, you can have people help you do the drawers. My brother and I did the drawers in about 20 min. Power drilled included. I also noticed some people not recommending power drills. I do recommend one. It speeds everything up and doesn’t over-tighten. My drill stops after it knows the screw has reach its max depth. If your drawer front is not perfectly aligned to the dresser, you’ve done something wrong. Aside from a defect in the wood, everything should be perfectly symmetrical. Lastly, I do hear some scratching sounds from the slider on about 2-3 drawers. This isn’t a big deal and can easily be fixed with some WD-40. I knew going in I’d have a project ahead of me but nothing made it impossible. Highly recommend this, and it’s set, to any and everyone!

Not very practical (not much fits in the top four drawers, and you have to be particularly creative to find use for the two long flat ones that are maybe two inches tall.) All of the drawers are hard to pull out and hard to push back in, there is no easy--sliding mechanism in this piece. I absolutely love the colors and design, so I treat this thing like something that I have to serve, instead of it serving me - just work with it to be able to keep it and use it.

While this dresser took several hours to assemble, it is really cool looking. You can tell it isn't high quality, but it has great style and you get what you pay for.

My boyfriend and I have received so many compliments on this dresser! It's become the focal piece in our family room. We do not regret this purchase at all. Let me start by apologizing to our UPS man. The dresser came in three, HEAVY, boxes (~45, 55, and 65 lbs.) We received 2 boxes one day and the final box the next evening. At first we panicked b/c we had only received 1 shipment confirmation, but if you click on your order status it directs you back to Overstock and you can read the fine print about what shipped and when. We had one screwdriver and it took exactly 5 hrs. to complete the set up. The setup time would have been reduced dramatically if we had a hand drill....or two screwdrivers for that matter. Once we had the frame, we moved it to where we wanted it in the house before adding in the shelves. I love how heavy the dresser is b/c that means it's durable and sturdy. Two things to be warned about: 1. The drawers didn't glide as smoothly on the track as we would have liked. That said, once I started filling the drawers (putting weight in them) it did seem to glide a little better. 2. The tone is a little more brown than I was expecting. From the picture, I expected the top two long drawers to have more green (top) and gray (bottom) undertones, however it pulls more brown. One could argue that it may be due to our lighting, but we have the dresser located in a room full of windows/natural lighting. Also, each set of drawers vary in color slightly. For example, when looking at the very bottom drawer on my dresser, one drawer is ever so slightly darker than the drawer next to it. However, this variance makes me think that every dresser has its own uniqueness as far as color goes. So what I see as undertones and shade change, might just be the case for mine.

The dresser is very sturdy and looks better assembled than pictured. There are way too many pieces. It took about 5 hours with no help to get it fully assembled. A plus though is all the pieces are clearly labeled. The drawers could roll a bit nicer.

Overall quality is not high *** has better quality *** . I selected this piece as the dresser colors matched a media console I purchased. I regret the purchase as I am very disappointed how damaged pieces came. There were 3 boxes in the package, all had damages and were not cared for. This piece took a long time to put together, and, I do feel there may have been a typo (you only know when it's all together and have to go back a few steps. All nails have to be super flush, or, the drawers will not glide easily. The "glide" of the drawers is weak regardless as metal pieces are not substantial. Will consider not using Overstock again. Better to see the item in person, than make impulsive furniture purchases - that are completely impossible to return. I would add may more photos but am limited to 3 photos.

It took several hours to assemble and two people - but the results were worth it. The final result is sturdy and quite attractive. It looks better than the picture.

I love the look of this dresser but after a couple of months of use, the top drawer face is buckling and the second one just started doing the same. I can't figure out why it is happening. The tracks of most of the drawers make a rough scraping sound and none close smoothly. Also, the top drawers are so shallow that they don't really hold much except for a single layer of socks. I'd forego that convenience if it felt more sturdy and functional. It looks pretty but I'm not happy with it at all. Giving it 2 stars just for its looks. Such a bummer.

We get lots of compliments on this dresser. It looks great and functions as expected. It took a good 2-3 hours for my husband to put this together, and he is a handyman with lots of experience. So be prepared for a long night!

Did take some time to put together but once it was I am truly so happy. The piece is unique and beautiful.

This is a really nice dresser! Takes some time to put together but not a confusing project. Only gave it 4 stars because the top of it had a noticeable chip on it from damage. Returning it was too much of a hassle considering how heavy it is and knowing you have to put it together and you have all the pieces everywhere. Me and my wife just placed a runner on top that matched perfectly so I'm satisfied

I love how the dresser looks and often receive complinents on it. The down side, I received the dresser damaged on the front corner, had a hard time fittting pieces togther, so drawers would move smoothly, and it took hours to assemble with my handy husbands help.

Love the dresser, was able to put it together, 1 female person in 4 hours. The only thing I didn't like is that the drawers had some "cracking" or "splitting" when I tightened the runners along the bottom of the drawer. I was also hoping for more gray, but looking at the picture again, I see that it was only the top two drawers that were gray. Everything was pre-drilled or marked out perfectly for placing screws and cam locks! Made following the instructions so easy! 1 screwdriver was all it took. I do NOT recommend using an electric screwdriver because it would be too easy to over tighten and cause cracks in your dresser. I'm looking forward to seeing it in my room once they are all done! I bought 1 8 drawer, 2 6 drawer, and 1 filing cabinet to go in our bedroom and match our existing white oak bed.

Not worth $ at all. Several screws broke, back of dresser doesn’t fit, and very cheap veneer wood.

Would recommend to anyone. Clean lines and goes with any thing already in place due to variety of wood finishes.

Cheap drawer railings... drawers do not open and shut smoothly

This dresser is gorgeous in our master bedroom. The drawers open very easily, and close without catching and seem sturdy. The directions for putting it together were straightforward and I did most of it by myself, calling someone a few times to help me flip it over. We've gotten many compliments on it. The white is very white which matches well with our trim.

Just got the finishing pieces yesterday and it took me approximately 5 hours to complete the building. Its was tiring but worth it. My family love it and think its beautiful. ❤❤❤❤

This dresser has exceeded my expectations. The quality and workmanship is amazing. I love everything about it. I have never ordered furniture on line and was very nervous. I am extremely happy I did. It looks fantastic. There was nothing missing and the drawers slide great. The dresser is exactly how it is pictured. I am using it as a dresser/TV stand since I am in a studio apartment.

This thing is a BEHEMOTH and frankly VERY time consuming to put together, but it’s absolutely gorgeous when it’s done! The unit is heavy, the wood is beautiful, the instructions are fine as long as you pay CLOSE ATTENTION TO DETAIL. I read the other reviews but it didn’t make sense until I started building: there’s one section where step number 5 is supposed to go in, but the instructions sorta messed that up, and one step where the cam locks and cam screws are in the wrong place on the diagram, but the drawer functions perfectly even with that flaw. This dresser is just completely worth it all around. I’ve also ordered two of the night stands and they’re gorgeous as well. 10000+ points!

It looks just as awesome as it does in the photo. Putting it together took me and another person 5 hours. One thing to note is that if you don't screw in the nails correctly, then the drawers will not close properly. This is a "you get what you pay for" type of product. The pulls on the drawers and the wood shown on the drawers are nice but the rest of the materials are just okay.

This is a beautiful dresser, but you should not buy it. It's heavy, it took about six hours to build alone (with understandable but tedious instructions) -- and most importantly, the drawers are awful. The drawer runners are poorly made, resulting in lots of noisy scraping no matter how many times you rebuild them, like nails on a chalkboard. The wooden sides of the drawers and dowels are not built uniformly to fit together, so your drawers will one by one start falling apart. Overstock will only re-send parts within seven days, and this is absolutely NOT the kind of heavy, complicated furniture you will want to try to return. Do NOT buy, and honestly, don't shop at Overstock. is around the corner from me in Brooklyn, and they're a dream when it comes to returns and parts replacements. 0 stars for the whole experience, but I have to give at least 1.

I would recommend this dresser. Stylish, unique. We had company over and they were intrigued and asked where I got it. Looks great in our bedroom!
