Carson Carrington Sigtuna Mid-century Sofa

I had been looking at this sofa from different sellers, waiting for the best price for a couple of months. The perfect touch for my mid century modern living room. I also purchased the ottoman both in the “Laguna” which in layman’s terms for aqua or light turquoise or even teal. It’s as gorgeous in person as it is in the photos. I was a little nervous because the photos of the sofa make the fabric look like there might be a woven stripe about every 4 inches or so but THERE IS NO STRIPE. If you buy this sofa from Overstock with their “free shipping “ be prepared to pay an additional $75-$150.00 in cash or a regular credit card to the actual delivery service. Overstocks’ “free shipping” would only have gotten it to the curb, not even the front door. I was shocked by this but they did make good on it after several hours on the phone with various customer service and supervisors.

Love this sofa. Modern, firm but not too firm, just great solid quality. Overstock worked with manufacturer to ensure item was flame-retardant free which is great because I don't want to sit on something saturated with cancer-causing chemicals. Really happy with this purchase. Got it in oatmeal - it's more a brownish speckled color, slightly grayish but more a warm gray, taupe-like, not a cool gray. I like it and it has become one of the nicest spots in the house to lounge on....

A $$$$ sofa that looks like a $$$$ sofa. Got oatmeal and it seems to go with everything in our 1960 mid century modern house and decor. Nice fabric and wood.

This couch is a wonderful piece to build a living room around. I have it in the grey color, which allows for a wide range of complementing accent pieces. The cushions are quite firm and supportive, and the couch is quite comfortable for almost any kind of lounging.

These pictures do not do the sofa justice. First of all, it's beautifully built. Looks to be better quality than the sofa I bought at Ashley's Furniture and was so much less expensive. The wood trim, feet and support leg are solid with a beautiful finish. The legs have a stopper of some kind on them so once assembled, the sofa moves can glide if you need to move it, no scratching. The fabric is great, I bought the oatmeal. It's not fuzzy or frayed like tweed material, it's smooth and flat. The cushions are firm and supportive, no sinking in or slouching. I have just started using it so its brand new, if anything changes I will try to update my review but first impressions are that this is the ultimate sofa, so much more than I expected for the price. If you are worried about assembly, it took me about 15 mins very easy and straight forward, you only need to put the legs on. It came in a duster bag much like a hangbag would so I will be taking advantage of that and using it to protect the sofa when we are away for longer periods, we have 2 cats lol.

This sofa is a fairly stiff one but it works well in a mid-century living area. Really happy with it!

This item arrived via freight shipping due to it's large size. I ordered it in Granite, which turned out to be the exact color I wanted. It is a grey with some brown undertones, but it goes with everything. It is high quality fabric, feels like it will last a while and not show wear. As others have mentioned, it is rather firm, yet comfortable. I use down throw pillows and absolutely love this sofa. I ended up ordering the armchair to go with it!

The sofa is great, firm but still comfortable and looks very nice in the room. Just be aware that the Expectation Grey is a much lighter grey than in the picture

This is a very handsome couch. We ordered it in azure and couldn't be happier. It came in a timely fashion and was easy to put together. The perfect piece for our mid century modern living room!

I purchased this couch for the look. But, the fabric start pulling, threading where's the seams after only 2 1/2 weeks. I emailed and send pictures to overstock and they are very helpful. I had no problem returning the sofa. My review is based on the quality of the sofa. Otherwise, Crissy M. from customer service is excellent.

Everyone who walks into our place for first time says "What a beautiful couch!" (We just purchased a home & so friends and family have came to see us often and that's the first thing everyone says) We purchased it in "Oatmeal" and the fabric is truly nice and the color is beautiful. It matched the color shown online. FYI. It's very firm, not uncomfortable, not a TV couch at all, it's comfortable for a living room couch. We bought long black pillows and they make it look even nicer. they also support you back when seating

This sofa is fantastic looking, so if it's just an accent piece, go for it! Unfortunately, it feels like a bedrock sofa straight out of The Flintstones. It is VERY hard. Another issue is the arm height. If you're used to lying sideways, propping yourself up against the arm to read or watch TV, forget it. The arm is so low, it hits in the small of my back. There's no way to nestle in and get comfy.

This sofa has exceeded my expectations so far. Seems very well made. Personally I think it’s more comfortable than other reviewers have expressed, but based on the reviews I was expecting a “park bench feel” and not a “sink down and get comfy”type of sofa. It is beautiful and very versatile.

WELL!! Very GROOVY couch, LUV the sturdiness & comfort, goes with the Mid Century groove I'm trying to vibe around the pad (house)!! NOW I ORDER THE MATCHING CHAIR!! ...Peace.

I really like the way this looks in my living room, though it is a tad on the low side (not a problem for me as I am short). It was a bit stiff/firm when we got it, but seems to have softened up. This is a fairly lightweight sofa, so I hope it holds up to use.

excellent addition to the office

Couch arrived within a 10 days after I ordered it. Like other reviewers mentioned, the delivery service doesn't do stairs. My review is based on the couch and not the poor delivery service. I have had the couch for a few weeks now. Great look and surprisingly quite comfortable ( I added the accent pillows). Very sturdy frame and legs. It has a contemporary-modern feel and look. Two complaints: The removable pillows are not reversible and the material tends to snag (2nd picture). Beyond this, really like the look and feel of this couch.

I bought 2 of these in aqua turquoise color. They were really easy to assemble because I just had to screw in the legs. They are very comfortable and stylish! I love them!

We purchased 3 of these 1 for an office and 2 for a media room. The clients love them and the blue color was just as described and brought a nice pop of color to the room. The cushions are nice and firm.

This couch is the most beautiful and comfortable I have ever seen or sat upon. My husband loves mid century and I am becoming a fan as well. The design is solid and well built. Overstock does NOT disappoint. After several purchases for our new home, I am very impressed with the quality of the product Overstock delivers!

We put this in the reception area of our office, looks great! At first I thought the legs were missing but I found them in the zippered compartment underneath. Everything came as ordered and expected.

I bought this item because it was supposed to be under a promotional purchase for deferred interest for 12 months. Well, I got 2 months no interest and then they decided not to honor the promotion. I've made several attempts to fix this to no avail. The couch was wonderful but I will reconsider any future credit card purchases on the Overstock card.

Really love this couch. It was all one piece and then screw in the legs very ideal to set up this couch in less than 10 minutes. Very sleek and modern and pretty comfortable for this style of couch. Really happy with it and the service.

Love this couch! A little stiff when you first get it but it's definitely breaking in over time.
