It's a very nice looking bookcase but I purchased it to store my record albums and they fit perfectly. Also it's very sturdy as I have both bottom shelves stocked with records, next two with books (including some heavy text books) and used the top shelf for DVDs& Blu ray so it's multifunctional BUT STURDY. I didn't anchor it to the wall (no small children or crazy pets) and it doesn't budge. Absolutely worth it. Very satisfied.

Overall, this ladder bookshelf is nice and functions well, but I knocked it down one star because it’s a little unstable in the middle which is only held together with one small dowel and screw on each side. I wouldn’t put too much weight on each shelf, but it is great for small items and paperback books.

Item arrived in perfect packaging, nothing was scratched or damaged. Very easy to assemble, can actually hold alot of stuff, pretty stable (did not anchor to wall). I got it in the color espresso and it looks very good, would highly recommend.

Well-made, sturdy bookshelf. Directions were clear and it was very easy for one person to put together. It did come with a little chip, but I used the black crayon that was included and now it is not noticeable. I didn't screw it into the wall, but it's been fine up against the wall. Definitely a great deal for this price!

These ladders are my favorite pieces I've bought from Overstock. They're made from nice wood, and the stain goes well with our living room. It's definitely more of an accent piece though.

I purchased the bookshelves as a pair and I was so excited when they came. I opened the box and it was the exact color and material I was looking for. Unfortunately, when I put it together, there was significant chipping on BOTH of them. There was no damage to the box, so I knew it wasn't the shipper. Wish it hadn't come damaged because I adored it.

I like the look of this ladder shelf, but I can't say I'm impressed with the quality. Upon arrival, there were already several spots where the finish had cracked off. One of the rods that holds the side together also came cracked and seems to compromise the stability. Assembly was quick- about 20 minutes by myself.

This is fine for the price, but it smells so incredibly toxic that I had to take it out of my daughter’s room. I have wiped it down and am hoping the smell will dissipate, because I won’t put it back in there till it does. It also came with multiple chips but they are relatively minor. It’s pretty cheaply made. We got the red color.

I bought a light blue color of this bookshelf. It looks good and sturdy. However, when I opened the package I can feel the odor from this product is really strong. I have to open my window and door for a few days and let the odor go away.

Not impressed, made from the same material that cheap desks are made from. I went by reviews on Overstock, that was a mistake. Have no idea how long it will last, shoved it in a spare bedroom because of the quality. Gave it the 1 star, because it was easy to put together with NO directions included.

We could smell the chemicals coming from this before we even took it out of the box. I was so surprised bc none of the other reviews mentioned this. We had bought this to go in a nursery, however I wouldn’t feel comfortable putting this anywhere in my home! We ordered the sea foam color, so maybe it’s just that color that has the strong order.
