I was nervous that because it's technically an outdoor rug, it would be rough or somehow "plastic" feeling. The grey pattern is woven like a very tight jute or a smooth natural fiber and the bone is raised ever so slightly with the weave/texture of a very low pile loop carpet. It feels much less like an outdoor rug than I expected. It is not soft per say but close to the feeling of a flat woven throw rug, I think that it would be more comfortable with a rug pad but it isn't unbearable with out one. Can't complain about the quality, had a bad spill in less than 24 hours and it cleaned right up. I was expecting "bone" to mean cream and the true color is a light tan, imagine a pair of khaki pants. The difference is minimal though, I wasn't disappointed at all just noticed a slight discrepancy. The grey is a true grey though, no blue undertones. It took it about a day to completely flatten out and the new rug smell to dissipate. All in all a great purchase on an 8x11, which on a budget can end up being a case of 'you get what you pay for'. This one looks and feels a lot more expensive than it was.
I would highly recommend that if you are looking to purchase this rug, you read the other reviews for it in this size and in the other sizes. The colors are NOT as depicted and you WILL be disappointed unless you do a bit of research. I also recommend looking at other outdoor rugs in blue from the same brand - some of these photos currently on Overstock have been edited to show the correct coloring. The color itself is as another reviewer described as a "denim". It is a darker blue with a bit of a texture to it, hence the "denim" description. The "bone" is also not as light as the photo depicts and is closer to a light tan or beige or sand. Delivery was extremely fast - I received my rug within 3 Business Days of ordering it. It was packaged really well in 2 layers of plastic and despite its huge size, it was relatively light to carry. The pattern is fabulous and this rug looks great indoors - which is why I bought it, but would also look great outdoors as well. It is modern and fun and would look good with contemporary, traditional or transitional decor styles. I highly recommend this high quality rug w/ a thick rug pad - so long as you know what the actual colors are!!
We are in the process of repainting our deck/pergola, but we were expecting house guests before we could get it finished so I needed to get a rug to make the space look nicer and less like a construction zone. I think this rug did the trick. We plan on continuing to use it after the work is done, it really helps continue our "living" space out onto the deck. The material it's made out of is actually quite soft, not rough at all, which was a nice surprise. We've had several days of rain with this rug out and it doesn't hold too much water and dries quite quickly. I've attached a photo of the rug with a piece of white paper on it to more accurate show its color. The only issue I had was the way the rug was packaged. It only had a thin layer of plastic protection and was rolled with the good side facing out and there were some spots where the plastic was ripped in shipping so some of the edges have dark stains on them that I can't remove. It's an outdoor rug and I don't expect it to stay perfect, but it's still disappointing when you order something new and it doesn't arrive in mint condition. It seems to be pretty durable - my cats mistook it for a scratching post twice while it was rolled up in our living room and I don't see any visible damage from their claws. Other than the packaging issue, I am pleased with this rug and would recommend it.
This is the third rug that I have purchased in this color/pattern. I love that it comes in so many different sizes. I also have a 6x9 under my kitchen table and an 8x10 (approximate) in my living room. With 3 kids, 3 dogs, and 2 cats, I needed something that is resilient and easy to clean. I also needed something that would lighten up my dark wood floors. Our house is very open concept so you can see everything from everywhere which is why I ended up with matching rugs. I am probably going to order one for our back patio as well since you can see it from everywhere too. There is some detail in the rug pattern up close, but it isn't bad. I do recommend a rug pad if you are using this rug indoors or the rug is likely to slip around even with furniture on it. My only complaint with this rug is that it is not rolled around a tube when it is shipped so it takes AWHILE for the rug to lay flat.
I was thrilled when I received my rug(s). I previously purchased two runners and now I am ordering the 9x12. But you have to know that the rugs on this site labeled indoor/outdoor are basically mats. They are thin like a sea grass or sisal rug. If you've purchased sea grass or sisal in the past or if you like the look but want more options, this category of rugs are a perfect alternative. They provide bold prints that can anchor a space nicely for a fraction of the price of a wool area rug, however I totally understand someone purchasing a rug like this for the first time and expecting a typical thicker pile area rug would be very disappointed. In my home, I have used the rugs both on hardwoods and on carpet and they need a rug mat or floor tape or prevent slippage, but my dogs and children have done a lot to them and they can withstand anything. They simply don't stain and they can be dragged outside and sprayed down with a hose (which I've never had to do).
I have purchased a Safavieh Courtyard indoor/outdoor rug in the past, and when it came time to replace it, I bought this one. I am just as pleased with this one. The polypropylene is smooth and soft to the touch. It's plenty comfortable to sit on and would be even better with a thick pad. It flattened out pretty quickly. A durable, attractive rug that is easy to clean.
I think that this is my fifth Safavieh Courtyard rug. They're all fantastic. Good quality, easy to clean, dries quickly. This one is on our deck and it grabs all of the mud from dog paws and kid boots and I hose it off. LOVE!
We have a house full of animals, so we've realized that we can't have nice rugs because they are quickly destroyed. These patterned indoor/outdoor rugs are perfect for us. The animals can play, scratch, throw up, and shed all over them. You can wipe them off with household cleaner and vacuum them - and it looks brand new again! The color on the website fpr this rug looks like a powder/light blue. In person, the rug is a darker blue. I wish the color was lighter because this wasn't really the color I was looking for. But the rug is huge for the price and fills the entire living room.
LOVE the pattern, HATE the color. I was very excited for the rug to arrive.... I am VERY disappointed in the color. The entire collection calls the color black and "bone" and this ONE rug is black and beige?? Yet it is the exact same color as the rest of the sizes in this collection. I needed it to be as pictured, more of an offwhite or ivory or even light stone color - not DARK KHAKI BEIGE. If "beige" in the title correct, and this is indeed NOT supposed to be "bone" like the rest of this collection, then the photo needs to be changed to reflect the difference in the coloring ON THIS WEBSITE between THIS rug and all the other sizes labeled "bone." It is MUCH darker than pictured, and not at all jiving with the colors in my kitchen. I love the print, wanted to love the rug, even the material is great and seems very durable for the kitchen - but the color just looks dingy and dirty and dark..... not the look I was going for. :/ Haven't notified overstock customer service yet, but they've always been helpful in my experience, so I plan to exchange these.
I love the pattern on this rug; however, I wish the colors were closer to the picture. In person, the "bone" is much darker and more yellow. The blue is also much darker. It's a very pretty rug, I am just disappointed that the color is so different. I'll keep it anyway. I am using it indoors, but it is definitely rough and probably better suited for outdoors. I would not have it in an area where people are regularly barefoot, or babies are crawling around. For under my office desk in a room that is not used often, it works just fine.
I love this rug!! Perfect design and size for my front porch. I have owned this rug for over a year and it still looks like new. I have also used it inside as well, it is great for indoor or outdoor use.
Quality rug for outdoor patio
DO NOT BUY THIS RUG. I purchased this rug a year ago and also bought a matching one that was smaller with inverse colors at the same time. Both rugs have been outside, right next to each other and subject to the same elements and usage (little-to-none). But for some odd reason, this rug has been completely destroyed. The threads are pulling apart and the blue color comes off in piles of blue dust particles. Both rugs are from Safavieh but this is the only one that has fallen apart. Overstock won't refund bc there's no warranty and I didn't return this item within 30 days (which is ridiculous since I've shared clear images on how this one fell apart but the other one didn't).
Great design and vibrant pattern and color! Safavieh makes the absolute BEST rugs...over the years I easily have purchased 25 or more for various homes and rental properties we have. Love that they are easy to care for- you bring outside and hose off when really dirty or just use a wet soapy sponge for small stains. Great with kids and pets!
The rug we received is a little darker than the picture. To me the blue online is more like a light denim, and what I received is closer to a medium rinse. It looks like cream online but in person it is definitely more beige. Also, there isn't a true zoom view here or photos that customers upload so you can't see the texture of the rug which you can in person. For me the rug looks a little more modern online and in person it feels more traditional. I bought this for our dining room. Although I prefer plusher rugs, I wanted the chairs to be able to slide and for the rug to be easy to clean. Really my goal was to bring style and color in to the room, not comfort. I would not suggest this for a room where you want kids to have a soft place to land or where the feel under your feet is your number one want. Two of the corners are not completely straight, just a bit disfigured from being bent and wrapped. However other than that it appears to be in good condition with no snags. It's not laying flat yet but I just got it a few hours ago. Rugs are expensive but this was not in comparison so I'd rate it as a good value. If it holds up for a couple years I'll feel like I did well.
These Safavieh rugs are terrific and great value. I have several of these rugs in my home and I use indoors due to the fact I have children and dogs. They hold up well and clean up super easy when kids have tracked in mud or dog had accidents. I have never machine washed.
If you use this indoor on hardwood, you have to use a non-skid pad underneath. I suppose any hard surface would be best to use the non skid. I thought it would have a rubber bottom because it says indoor/outdoor use. Other than that, it's good quality but scary slippery (movement wise) so take note!
Great indoor outdoor rug! It’s so easy to clean and the pattern adds a nice pop of color. The rug doesn’t fade and it sits in the sun. Feels good on your feet too.
This rug is great - perfect for indoor as well as outdoor use.
I like it a lot, the color is a bit darker than in the description but that's probably my monitor's fault. It's soft enough to walk barefoot on it but also easy to clean, since we're using it in a high traffic area (way to the patio door). I'd buy it again.
