"Silk or Wool or Both? If both, what proportion? Thickness / pile height?"
I recently purchased the Safavieh Handmade Flatweave Dhurrires Renae Modern Wool Rug in Ivory/Blue for my small home office. I was initially drawn to the classic pattern but fell in love with the design once I realized that it was a wool flatweave that would look perfect under my new midnight ink desk. The blue is definitely more gray than I expected, however it is still blue when looking at it. The Quality is visible and it laid down flat as soon as I unrolled it. It did have a slight smell when I initially took it out of the packaging but it quickly dissipated once I opened it up. I would recommend this rug to anyone looking for a casual, classic vibe.

It's a good quality but a thin rug, so be sure to get a rug pad with it to keep in place and add cushiness.

Safavieh Hand-woven Moroccan Reversible Dhurrie Na
I received this rug at almost two months ago and finally took it out of the wrapping. It does lay out pretty flat - one end i do have chairs holding down the corners. The rug is a true navy with off white (cream // ivory). The print is large. The rug is very soft (I am surprised it is wool) - I am not sure what else to say except that I love it and am happy with my purchase. Hubby likes it too and he is not a big fan of blue.

While the design was modern and worked well with my decor, the flatweave isn't as cozy as regular pile rugs. If you're looking for softness look elsewhere, but a very nice rug nonetheless.

I like the rug although the color is not accurate. It is definitely more of a dark gray that the greige that is shown in the pictures. Also, the edges curl up, so I'm hesitant to let my Roomba roam...
