Simple Living Margo Mid-Century 3-shelf Bookshelf

We were excited about this shelf based on the photos and reviews but are honestly disappointed with the quality. The blue is indeed greyes and antique. It seems more country than modern to me. It took perhaps an hour to put together. Two panels were chipped (white) so they had to be assembled to face the wall. A few of the holes for hardware were slightly misaligned but it was easily solved. The wooden legs between shelves were very poorly made and poorly painted. We tried to put the worst in back and turn the chipped sides toward the wall. The legs at the bottom have a swath of silver paint that was not sharp nor well painted and look terrible. Lastly in the inside of each of the three shelves there are two screw caps at the top of each side that are awful looking. A book as tall as the side might hide them but if you intend to use the shelf for other things as we did they will be unsightly. They do seem to be photoshopped out of the photo shown. I took one from a similar distance and they are quite apparent. It's not an expensive shelf but I do think there are better options for the price.

Love the gold color, it gives it a chic finish, and it’s exactly the style I was looking for. It matches perfectly with the mid century modern sofas in my living room.

This bookshelf looks even better in person. It is very high quality and has metal caps on the legs, which give it that authentic mid century look. Assembly was easy as well. I highly recommend it.

It weighs about 60-70 pounds, so will need help lifting it up after being built, and is such larger then I expected it to be which I do not mind. I am glad it is because all my books just made it on the bookshelf. Love the modern look and color to it. Great bookshelf for the price.

Let me say, the reviews were pretty half and half on this shelf so I decided the reasonable price was worth the gamble. I ordered this shelf in walnut. Upon opening the box and taking things out, I noticed a few marks on pieces here and there. And as previously mentioned, there was a strong smell (I’m guessing from the wood stain that was used), but it quickly dissipated. I took a Sunday afternoon to put this together and it was so easy and straightforward. It took me solo about an hour-hour and a half from start to finish. I’m very happy with the quality of this piece. It was the perfect height and width for my spot, and is a pretty substantial piece. Due to the design, it is a bit wobbly. Leaning it against the wall did the trick for me. But I’d say if you have kids or it will be heavily used, fasten it to the wall. Personally, I wish the caps on the feet were a little more gold. They almost blend in with the wood, but that’s a personal preference and I can live with it for what I paid. Overall a great piece for a great price! Looks like I paid more and it matched the style of my home really well. Happy!

Exactly what I was hoping for- great bookshelf for my at home office! I got the walnut & gold finish and really like it. The geometric shape is unique and provides a somewhat mid century modern aesthetic without going over board.

For the price, I was surprised at the quality. I purchased the walnut, and there were no noticeable scratches or dings. It's nice and sturdy, but would need to be mounted to the wall, especially if you have kids or pets. I would like it even better if the shelves were a little deeper. The reason I marked it 4 stars is because of the overwhelming smell of the wood when I opened the package. The smell has dissipated over the past few days, but makes me wonder what this was preserved with to have such an odor.

Was looking for a bookshelf that wasn't the traditional rectangular shape with adjustable shelves. Easy to assemble. Color goes well with my mid century modern living room. Legs are not metal though...just painted silver. Which looks just fine. For the price this is a great buy.

What a wonderful design for a bookshelf! The walnut finish goes perfectly with our mid-century modern decor. The price is great! I am so happy that we found this bookcase! I would recommend this to anyone.

MAY HAVE TO BUY ONE MORE! Was looking for some GROOVY shelves to store my Vintage Jazz LP's collection for my new pad, these shelves was right on the money! ...Peace.

Cheap wood . The bottom boards bent u shaped immediately. Then one collapsed. Don’t buy if you want something sturdy.

Assembled product looks just like the photo and it wasn't too hard to put together. The instructions did call for putting glue (included) into all the little dowel holes, which was a little annoying because I'm kind of sloppy, so I was constantly wiping away little smears of glue. As far as stability, eh, you get what you pay for. It wobbles a bit if you push on it. But overall, it looks great and though I've loaded every tier down with books, and the shelves look like they will stay straight.

Pretty subtle gray blue color that blends well. Easy to put together. I'm 55 and not mechanical, but did it alone. Plenty of glue for dowels, cam locks, very little twisting of the wrist required. So nice. I will put it in a darkish space at the end of the hall to lighten the area. 50's tv lamps, books, doilies. oddities will look great. Great sturdy bookshelf of good weight for balance. Pegs must be completely inserted or they will break through the laminate during assembly. I split it twice but not in a noticeable spot. Overall, product is very pretty and perfect for my need.

Looks just like the picture and is great quality. I did not give it 5 stars because it came with some of the wooden pieces chipped to reveal white instead of the blue color. One of the legs also was missing a hole so, I had to drill it in during construction. It's sturdy and chic looking.

I bought three of these, two white and one blue. The white shelves come with actual metal ferrule feet with furniture glides. The blue shelf just has silver paint to look like ferrule feet and without any furniture glides. Unfortunately, if you plan to use these side-by-side as I did, there will be about a 1/4” difference in height, due to the glides. I plan to purchase my own glides and to attach them to the blue shelf. Also, the finish on the blue shelf seems fairly fragile. Just in the course of normal assembly on a soft surface, some blue paint came off revealing white underneath. And of course the blue is the hardest to match for touch ups. I wonder if the manufacturer offers touch up paint. Despite these shortcomings, they are stylish shelves for the price, especially since I got them at Black Friday prices.

Love this shelving unit so much was the perfect storage solution for my kitchen

It literally fell apart when we lifted it to move shelf into the bedroom. For what it cost it isn't worth the price. I ordered 2 and will be returning the one that is still in box. I really can not be bothered with the 2nd one. Very disappointed in the cheapness of materials shelf is made out of. I really wanted to love this product and for the record I have never had a problem ordering furniture in the past .

The design and construction seem nice for the price. It's sitting on carpet and a little worried about it tipping forward since it doesn't look like it's level, but so far so good.

This shelf is so frickin cute. I got it in the walnut color, and the color is a beautiful warm brown. As other reviewers said, the rods between shelves are not gold as pictured. I thought about painting them but I don't think its necessary. Assembly was quick and easy. The shelf is a little wobbly on its own, which is why the directions say to mount it to the wall and includes hardware to do so. Its a nice height and shelves are a good size. This is the perfect accent bookshelf to match the rest of my mid century modern furniture.

Cute and easy to put together, however not great if you have many books because it clearly is not able to hold a lot of weight. When I place too many books on a shelf it starts bending.

This bookshelf is great! I love the tiers that makes it nice for book storage and also stylish display. It was relatively easy to put together, took 1.5 hrs by myself.

This is a good looking and nice retro piece. Seems relatively sturdy but I would definitely keep tight against wall. I do have an issue that, with not much weight, the shelves have bowed a bit.I now will have to add support to the middle of each shelf.

Wow. What a beautiful shelf. Soft pink. Midcentury style. Great lines. Easy to put together. Did it myself. Directions a little confusing. Just gotta lay it all out.
