It is simple to use and battery-operated. It rings with the little metal piece that vibrates between the two bells on top....very old fashioned. Loud, but not loud enough to wake my hubbie. It has a light on its face when you press a button on the back, but the light is dim and not helpful. I'll keep it, but I wouldn't buy it again.

I got this for my son ,no matter what alarm went off he would never wake. He does with this one. I love it ,now I don't have to worry about him getting to work on time . Great alarm clock.
